So what's all this PikaBoom stuff then?
Well, it all started at UMIST one beeerfest when a group of enterprising individuals decided to instigate some kind of charity bidding war. We wanted something along the lines of the 1997 'Should we nail barbie girl to a block of wood' night but on a more grand scale.

For many people, like myself, the humble Pokémon is a figure of hatred. Ever wondered why Pikachu has such crap stumpy arms? No? Well I'll tell you anyway. It's coz all it does all day is sit around eating pies and getting pissed on your money. This gave me an idea. Why don't we get a Pikachu, stuff it full of explosives and blast it into tiny pieces all in the name of charity!

Once we had the idea, the only thing stopping us was finding the ingredients. Explosives were no problem to get hold of. We happened to have some lying around, er, I mean safely stored away (in a locked metal box, next to a can of diesel and a box of matches - I kid you not!). The hard one was getting hold of a Pikachu without paying the extortionate prices usually asked. The answer came in the form of a dodgy (and now closed) car accessory shop in the Arndale centre who sold us a cheap immitation Pikachu for a couple of quid.

The Big Night
The big night came around and it was down to our highly trained pyromaniacs to decide how the explosion was to take place. The plan went as follows:

Key:
A: Small maroon
B: Small maroon
C: Large maroon
D: Pyro Flash

Fig1 - Explosive placement

Each of the pyros was powered by a 9V PP3 battery. In order that we didn't draw too much power out of the battery the Pikachu demolition would be carried out in 2 parts. The first explosion would be a smaller explosion, meerly blowing the ears off the pokémon using maroons A and B. The second explosion was where the damage would be done. The Pikachu (minus ears) would be blown apart by the large maroon (C) and simultaneously torched by the flash (D).

Right, you've heard the theory now see how it was carried off:
