Well, I suppose I should start with the basics. My name's Paul though everyone calls me Griff, I'm currently 27 and my birthday's in late December.
And now for a brief history. I was born in Liverpool and raised in the Wirral in the tiny, insignificant town of Neston. I went to Neston High till I was 18 then, having got my A-levels, I went off to 'study' at UMIST (which has since 'merged' with the University of Manchester and is now called... The University of Manchester).
I eventually got my degree in electrical and electronic engineering, possibly one of the least interesting and most difficult subjects I could have picked, in 2000, but more importantly than that, I met my future wife there a year earlier.
I now own a house with my wife, Sabs, on the outskirts of Stockport and I work in Wilmslow as a web developer for a web/marketing/design agency, working on such sites as UCI Cinemas, thefilmworks and the Lowry Outlet Mall as well as many more.
Interests
I'm kinda lucky with my hobbies really in that I have managed to get paid for the two main ones at one time or another.
Music - I've always been a fan of music. Generally cheesey pop & dance but I've got quite broad tastes really. I'm also easily distracted by flashy lights & loud music. It's probably the combination of these two that led me to become a mobile DJ.
I started DJing aged 12 and by the time I went off to university I was pretty much booked up every weekend.
Whilst at UMIST I DJed at various venues and events around manchester as well as doing sound engineering and lighting for many other events, bands and DJs.
Since leaving university and getting a real job though, the DJing has faded out slightly and now I tend to only do Beerfest and a handful of other events each year.
Websites - It might make me look like a geek but I enjoy building websites. The ones I build for a living are not always so enjoyable but I do find developing my own site to be quite relaxing.
